U.S. Senator Ben Sasse, a member of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, issued the following statement after reports that Britain is expected to make plans to start phasing out Huawei from their 5G Networks.

”Chairman Xi’s spy web isn’t going to like this, but good for the British government. Shared security interests are a major part of our special relationship with the Brits, and the Chinese Communist Party’s tech puppet should not be allowed to sit on our closest ally’s networks."

Background:

In March, Sasse and Senator Schumer led a bipartisan group of senators in urging Parliament to reconsider the Johnson government’s decision to allow Huawei to supply some of the United Kingdom’s 5G telecommunications structure.
