U.S. Senator Ben Sasse, a religious liberty champion and member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, released the following statement after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in favor of religious organizations, like Little Sisters of the Poor, upholding religious organization's freedom of conscience to receive exemptions from Obamacare's contraceptive mandate.

"Religious freedom is a fundamental right that protects the rights of all people to live by their own conscience. As Americans, we're supposed to stand up for each other's rights, not trample on them. This decision further cements a big idea: that governments cannot force religious people and organizations to violate their sincerely-held religious beliefs.”
